MPU6050 is the world’s first integrated 6-axis Motion Tracking device that combines a 3-axis gyroscope, 3-axis accelerometer, and a Digital Motion Processor™ (DMP) all in a small 4x4x0.9mm package.

GY-521 MPU6050 6DOF 3-Axis Gyroscope and Accelerometer Module is a carrier board based on MPU-6050 sensor which contains an accelerometer and a gyroscope.

MPU 6050 3 Axis Accelerometer and Gyro sensor contains a MEMS accelerometer and a MEMS gyro in a single chip. It is very accurate, as it contains 16-bits analog to digital conversion hardware for each channel.

Therefore it captures the x, y, and z channel at the same time. The sensor uses the I2C-bus to interface with microcontrollers.

GY-521 MPU6050 6DOF 3-Axis Gyroscope and Accelerometer Module is not expensive, especially given the fact that it combines both an accelerometer and a gyroscope.

GY-521 module is based on the MPU-6050 NEMS chip, and combines a 3-axis gyroscope and a 3-axis accelerometer with a digital motion processor (DMP) and a temperature sensor.

The sensor data is read out via the I²C bus, therefore you only need 2 lines (SCL and SDA) besides ser power supply. Via pin AD0 you can set the I²C address (Low = 0x68,High = 0x69).

The chip has a 1024 Byte FIFO The chip has a 1024 Byte a microcontroller. A sub-I²C bus allows the connection of further I²C sensors, e.g. for the determination of air pressure, compass direction, or similar.

GY-521 is based on the MPU6050 sensor that contains both a 3-Axis Gyroscope and a 3-Axis accelerometer.

MPU6050 Accelerometer uses I2C communication protocol and you can read MPU6050 outputs with SCL and SDA pins.

Note : –

MPU6050 Accelerometer and Gyroscope has an onboard LDO chip and supports 5 V / 3.3 V voltage input. Further, this acceleration and module unit also supports IIC standard communication protocol, with 16 bit AD converter and 16 bits of data output.
