This SOP SSOP 20 SMD Adapter can mount 20-pin SMD IC packages including SOIC-20, SOP-20, SSOP-20, TSSOP-20 and convert them to a DIP-20 footprint.

This SOP SSOP 20 SMD Adapter can mount many 20-pin or smaller SMD components that either have a 0.65mm or a 1.27mm lead spacing and convert it to a standard 28-pin or smaller DIP footprint on 2.54mm (0.1″) centers for use with breadboards. The board is double-sided to support the two different SMD pin pitches. Male headers can be soldered to either side of the board for use with breadboards.

Whether you are using an SOIC, QFP or even QFN/DFN with pitches as small as .4mm, Schmartboard is the solution that makes these parts workable for your prototype or project without the need for custom assembly costs. The SSOP20 – SOP20 to DIP Adapter is a double-side board that allows the mounting of 8-20 pin SSOP ICs on one side or the mounting of 8-28 pin SOP ICs on the other side; in both cases all the signals are broken out through two 2,54mm standard spacing headers that have a 0,6” DIP standard spacing. This Adapter grants a very simple way to use commercial components sold only in SSOP and SOP formats with standard breadboards, sockets and protoboards.

So, you’ve got a project in mind but the chip you want to use is a fine pitch 0.65mm/1.27mm chip. Well, this adapter board could be just what you need. When using this board, please bear in mind that you can’t solder the smaller 0.5mm pitch devices with a soldering iron. Use solder paste (with a stencil) and a hot air sun or oven.
