Luminosity Sensor TSL2561 I2C Ambient Light Sensor GY-2561 module is a sophisticated light sensor which has a flat response across most of the visible spectrum. Unlike simpler sensors, the TSL2561 measures both infrared and visible light to better approximate the response of the human eye.

Luminosity Sensor TSL2561 is an integrating sensor (it soaks up light for a predetermined amount of time), it is capable of measuring both small and large amounts of light by changing the integration time.
The I2C Ambient Light Sensor GY-2561 is capable of direct I2C communication and is able to conduct specific light ranges from 0.1 – 40k+ Lux easily. Additionally, the TSL12561 contains two integrating analog-to-digital converters (ADC) that integrate currents from two photodiodes, simultaneously. Each breakout requires a su voltage of 3V and a low supply current max of 0.6mA.

The light sensor module TSL2561 is characterized by a flat signal response in most of the visible light band. Unlike other light sensors, the sensor included in the modSL2561 module measures both visible and infrared light to better approximate the effects of the human eye.

The layout of the system includes two photodiodes and two A / C converters, thanks to which it is possible to simultaneously measure the intensity of illumination in the visible and infrared spectrum.

The TSL2561 system communicates via the I2C bus, it also has an OC (configurable alarm) output.
