Arduino Data Logger Shield RTC SD Card V1.1 is a simple data logging shield which will enable you to add SD Card storage support and RTC capability to your Arduino project. The shield is also stackable, so additional shields can go on top. The RTC Data Logger Shield v1.1 makes use of pin 4 as a chip select.

Datalogger Shield is an extension board that consists of 3 major elements : the SD Card Module, Real Time Clock (RTC) module and the prototype board. The SD Card and RTC modules are very important in data logging while the prototype board can be used to wire sensor terminals or any wiring modification.

Before using an SD or MicroSD card, please set the shields “SELECT” switch to the proper setting: toward the SD/SDHC slot, or the MicroSD slot. Also it with a RTC on-board, that make you project more perfect.

Saving data to files on any FAT16 or FAT32 formatted SD card, to be read by any plotting, spreadsheet or analysis program. The included RTC (Real Time Clock) can be used to timestamp all your data with the current time, so that you know precisely what happened when!

Arduino Data Logger Shield RTC SD Card V1.1 is a reliable, well-rounded and versatile design. It is easily expanded or modified and come well supported with online documentation and libraries

The RTC is an i2c device, which means it uses 2 wires to to communicate. These two wires are used to set the time and retrieve it. On the Arduino UNO, these pins are also wired to the Analog 4 and 5 pins. This is a bit annoying since of course we want to have up to 6 analog inputs to read data and now we’ve lost two.

Features: –

  • SD card interface works with FAT16 or FAT32 formatted cards. 3.3v level shifter circuitry prevents damage to your SD card.
  • Real time clock (RTC) keeps the time going even when the Arduino is unplugs. The battery backup lasts for years.
  • Included libraries and example code for both SD and RTC mean you can get going quickly
  • Prototyping area for soldering connectors, circuitry or sensors.
  • Onboard 3.3v regulator is both a reliable reference voltage and also reliably runs SD cards that require a lot of power to run.

Arduino Data Logger Shield Specifications: –

  • Built-in voltage regulator 5 V / 3.3 V
  • Two LEDs for user
  • Space on the SD card
  • RTC DS1307 (documentation)
  • A place for the battery CR1220(included)
  • Holes designs for installing your own modules
  • The Arduino connectors to connect shields
  • A quartz resonator of 32 kHz
  • The Reset Button
  • It works with board of Arduino Uno and derivatives
