A 1X4 keypad matrix Membrane is a type of keypad that has 4 buttons arranged in a single row. The Membrane 1X4 Keypad buttons typically label 1, 2, 3, and 4. This 1X4 Membrane keypad works by using a matrix of wires to connect the buttons to the microcontroller. When a button is pressed, it completes a circuit between two wires, which tells the microcontroller which button was pressed.

1X4 keypad matrices can operate with an input voltage of 3 to 12 volts. It is also important to note that the input voltage of a 1×4 keypad matrix should not exceed the maximum voltage rating of the microcontroller that it is connect to. The maximum voltage rating of the microcontroller can found in the microcontroller’s datasheet.

The working principle of a 1X4 keypad matrix is based on the use of a matrix of wires to connect the buttons to the microcontroller. When a button is press, it completes a circuit between two wires, which tells the microcontroller which button pressed.

To scan the keypad, the microcontroller would first set all of the row wires to HIGH. Then, it would check the column wire to see if it is LOW. If the column wire is LOW, then the microcontroller knows that one of the buttons on the row is press. The microcontroller can then determine which button is press by looking at which row wire is HIGH.

The microcontroller would repeat this process for each row wire. Once it has scanned all of the rows, it will know which button is pressed, if any.
