The KY-032 infrared obstacle avoidance sensor module is a small, easy-to-use sensor that can use to detect obstacles in the path of a robot. KY-032 IR module uses an infrared LED and a phototransistor to detect the presence of an obstacle. When the LED is energized, it emits infrared light that is reflected back to the phototransistor if there is an obstacle nearby. The amount of reflected light that is detected by the phototransistor is used to determine the distance to the obstacle.

The KY-032 sensor module is very easy to use and can connect to an Arduino or other microcontroller using the included jumper wires. Once the module is connected, the Arduino can be programmed to read the sensor values and control the robot’s movement.

The detection range of the KY-032 infrared obstacle avoidance sensor is typically between 2cm and 40cm. The exact detection range will vary depending on the surface that the sensor is detecting, the ambient light conditions, and the sensitivity of the sensor.

IR obstacle avoidance sensor module can operate on a voltage input of 3.3V to 5V. The input voltage is typically supplied by an Arduino or other microcontroller. The sensor module has a built-in voltage regulator that ensures that the sensor operates at the correct voltage, regardless of the input voltage.

The KY-032 IR obstacle avoidance sensor module has two variable adjustments that can use to adjust the sensitivity and the frequency of the sensor. The sensitivity adjustment is located on the left side of the module and is controlled by a potentiometer.  The frequency adjustment is located on the right side of the module and is controlled by a potentiometer.

If you are looking for an affordable, easy-to-use, and versatile infrared obstacle avoidance sensor module, then the KY-032 is a great option.

Features : –

The default settings for the sensitivity and frequency of the KY-032 sensor module are typically sufficient for most applications. However, you may need to adjust the settings if you are using the sensor in a different environment or if you are using the sensor for a different application.

Here are some of the features of the KY-032 infrared obstacle avoidance sensor module:

  • Low cost
  • Small size
  • Easy to use
  • Wide range of applications

KY-032 Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Sensor Module Specifications : –

The KY-032 infrared obstacle avoidance sensor module has two variable adjustments that can use to adjust the sensitivity and the frequency of the sensor.

The sensitivity adjustment is located on the left side of the module and is controlled by a potentiometer. Turning the potentiometer clockwise will increase the sensitivity of the sensor, while turning it counterclockwise will decrease the sensitivity. The sensitivity of the sensor determines how close an obstacle needs to be before the sensor will trigger.

The frequency adjustment is located on the right side of the module and is controlled by a potentiometer. Turning the potentiometer clockwise will increase the frequency of the sensor, while turning it counterclockwise will decrease the frequency. The frequency of the sensor determines how often the sensor will emit an infrared pulse.

The KY-032 infrared obstacle avoidance sensor module has the following specifications:

  • Operating voltage: 3.3V to 5V
  • Input current: 20mA
  • Detection range: 2cm to 40cm
  • Sensitivity adjustment: Potentiometer
  • Frequency adjustment: Potentiometer
  • Output signal: Digital (LOW when obstacle detected, HIGH when no obstacle detected)
  • Dimensions: 40mm x 16mm x 11mm

KY-032 Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Sensor Module Pin Descriptions : –

infrared obstacle avoidance sensor module has 4 pins:

  • VCC: The power supply pin. The voltage on this pin should be between 3.3V and 5V.
  • GND: The ground pin. This pin should connect to the ground of your power supply.
  • S (OUTPUT): The digital output pin. This pin outputs a HIGH or LOW signal depending on whether the sensor detects an obstacle or not.
  • EN: The enable pin. This pin can use to enable or disable the sensor.
KY-032 Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Sensor Module Applications : –

The KY-032 sensor module is a very versatile sensor that can used in a variety of applications. The applications are limited only by your imagination. The KY-032 infrared obstacle avoidance sensor module can use in a variety of applications, including:

  • Obstacle avoidance
  • Line following
  • Object detection
  • Proximity detection
