Gravity Analog Turbidity Sensor detects water quality by measuring the levels of turbidity. Gravity Analog Turbidity Sensor uses light to detect suspended particles in water by measuring the light transmittance and scattering rate, which changes with the amount of total suspended solids (TSS) in water.
As the TTS increases, the liquid turbidity level increases. Gravity Analog Turbidity Sensor is used to measure water quality in rivers and streams, waste water and effluent measurements, control instrumentation for settling ponds, sediment transport research and laboratory measurements.
This Gravity Analog Turbidity Sensor provides analog and digital signal output modes. The threshold is adjustable when in digital signal mode. You can select the mode according to your MCU.
A turbidity probe works by sending a light beam into the water to be tested. This light will then be scattered by any suspended particles.
A light detector places at (usually) a 90 degree angle to the light source, and detects the amount of light that reflects back at it
The Gravity Analog Turbidity Sensor measures the amount of transmitted light to determine the turbidity of the wash water. These turbidity measurements are supplied to the dishwasher controller, which makes decisions on how long to wash in all the cycles.

Gravity Analog Turbidity Sensor Interface Description: –
- “D/A” Output Signal Switch
- “A”: Analog Signal Output, the output value will decrease when in liquids with a high turbidity
- “D”: Digital Signal Output, high and low levels, which can be adjusted by the threshold potentiometer
- Threshold Potentiometer: you can change the trigger condition by adjusting the threshold potentiometer in digital signal mode.
Pinout
The turbidity unit is measured in NTU “Nephelometric Turbidity Units” which is global standard. The larger the turbidity is, the cloudy of the sample is. Turbidity sensor connects to the microcontroller through an analog to digital converter through this A to D converter.
