Fast Recovery Diode is a semiconductor device which possesses short reverse recovery time for rectification purpose at high frequency. A quick recovery time is crucial for rectification of high-frequency AC signal. Diodes are mostly used in rectifiers because they possess ultra-high switching speed.
UF4007 diode are axial leaded ultra fast recovery power diode and this device features glass passivated chip junction, low cost, fast efficient plastic rectifiers, high efficiency, low forward voltage and low leakage current and high surge current capability.
The maximum ratings of the UF4007 diode, the max repetitive peak reverse voltage is 1000V, Maximum RMS voltage is 700V, Max blocking voltage is also 1000V, max average forward rectified current is 1A, max non repetitive forward surge current is 30A and max power dissipation is 3 Watt.
The UF4007 diode has a cathode (-) and anode (+). In the schematic symbol, the tip of the triangle with the line on top of it is the cathode. The cathode is marked on the body of a diode by a band.

UF4007 Diode Polarity and Pinout
UF4007 diode has a cathode (-) and anode (+). In the schematic symbol, the tip of the triangle with the line on top of it is the cathode. The cathode is marked on the body of a diode by a band as shown below.
The current can flow from only the anode to the cathode and never from the cathode to the anode – the UF4007 diode is like a one way electric valve.
